Below are a few places I have enjoyed volunteering my time:

Catch a Falling Star (CAFS), Fall 2006

For two hours a week, I enjoy spending time at Catch a Falling Star.  This is a non-profit after school care organization for children with special needs.  I spend most of the time interacting with the children and planning new activities for them to enjoy.

Quad Rugby, Fall 2006

I volunteered with Quad Rugby at weekly practices.  I interacted with the players, helped with transfers and taping, and provided an extra hand during practice.

Relay for Life, Fall 2006/Spring 2007

I became a member of the "WashU Ot's 4 Life" team.  This team works to raise money to help fight against Cancer, the disease that effects so many poeple around us.

Backpack Awareness Day, Fall 2007

Backpack awareness day is national event in which Occupational therapists educate classrooms on the proper techniques of wearing your back pack, while also educating them about the effects that improper wearing of the backback can have on their health.  I was the chair for this event.

"Tell me and I'll forget.  Show me and I might remember.  Involve me and I'll understand."
